Leading Change for a Sustainable Chemical Industry

The chemical industry supports the fulfillment of many human needs and activities and has a key role to play in the sustainable development of our society. To realize the opportunities and reduce risks we must first understand sustainability, our global challenges and have the competence to drive the process of sustainable innovation.

Leading Change for a Sustainable Chemical Industry

This year the second 'Leading Change for a Sustainable Chemical Industry' course is taking place. The Flexible Platform is providing coaching and input to the real-life cases of some of the participants in the course. “I was particularly surprised to see how this unifying Framework was able to bring together different people from different fields of expertise to work towards a shared goal and being able to tap back into the knowledge of each field of expertise to deliver on that shared definition of success” – said Berend, who was preparing his involvement in one of the face-to-face meetings in Horgen in Switzerland.

“A clear take-away of these meetings is that it’s almost impossible to work on these complex changes without addressing the need for collaboration within the value chain and also the need for the ability to share knowledge and challenges with stakeholders to buy them into the challenges and source possible solutions.” In the upcoming months the third course will be prepared of which we hope that many new Dutch organizations will connect and reap the benefits of the use of this Framework. The LCSCI-course is a joint collaboration between The Natural Step and Blekinge Institute for Technology (BTH) in Sweden.
